Smile Game Builder (SGB) is a piece of software targeted at making 3-D, Japanese-style RPGs. It seems to be as easy to use as RPG Maker, but has some cool additions like a character builder. Updates and add-ons are still being released.

It's Windows-only, but there's a (n expensive) add-on / DLC pack that let's you export to Unity. From there it's apparently tricky to make changes, but easy enough to export to any platform Unity supports.

You can import assets too, but 3-D formats are currently limited to Metasequoia and OBJ.

For expensive tools like these it's worth checking their entry on SteamDB to get an idea of how much of a discount you might be able to get: https://steamdb.info/app/483950/
